Faith in Peace Concert – June 17, 2023
The Concert for the Human Family (CFHF) of the US Episcopal Church and Light4America were delighted to hold the second ever “Faith In Peace” Concert on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the historic Sixth & I Synagogue to promote Rotary District 7620 (Washington, DC through Eastern Maryland). This nonreligious concert featured a variety of Pop/Rock, Hip-Hop, instrumental and Country artists to inspire audiences to get involved in making positive change in the world through Rotary and partner nonprofits. The “Shared Values” concert supported the values of Democracy, Diversity, and Decency, as well as the Juneteenth date and Pride month. This concert supported peace activities and Rotary clubs in District 7620 and created an innovative model for future CFHF-Rotary partnerships.

Purple Tee Golf Classic
The Purple Tee Golf Classic, Metro Bethesda Rotary Club’s biggest fundraiser of the year was a huge success in 2023! The Purple Tee was held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, MD. This year the Purple Tee supported the MBR Foundation as well as two terrific veterans organizations, The Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) and Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS). Participants supported in many ways: by playing golf, sponsoring, volunteering, or bidding on Silent Auction items. It was a great day of golf and fellowship!

Happy Bucks
Each week MBR devotes a segment of its meeting to Happy Bucks. All members have a chance to mention something they’re happy about, be it a personal milestone, a noteworthy event in the community, or something as routine as colorful flowers or crisp fall weather. Happy Bucks time helps build community in our Club – members get to know each other’s interests and successes – and at the same time, we give a little each week to the MBR Foundation. Many members pay in cash at the meeting, but members and non-members have the option of making a donation online via Paypal. Make a Happy Bucks donation
